Marc-Aurèle de Foy Suzor-Coté

1869-1837 Canada/Impressionism

 

Brief Biography-Marc-Aurèle de Foy Suzor-Coté was a Canadian impressionist painter, sculptor and singer born in Arthabaska in 1869. He studied at the École des Beaux-Arts and the Académie Julian and operated from his studio in Montreal from 1919, where he painted numerous works. In 1927 he suffered from hemiplegia after a stroke, and he recuperated in Florida, where he spent his remaining days. The Musée National des Beaux-Arts du Québec hold an extensive collection of his paintings.
