Sandreuter became a close friend of Arnold Böcklin, and he associated with Wilhelm von Kaulbach. He primarily worked out of his Basel studio doing murals. Böcklin strongly influenced him to the extent that he considered him a plagiarist. However, his able talents are evident in his paintings and murals. |
