Juan Patricio Morlete Ruiz

1713-1770 Mexico/Baroque

Brief Biography-Juan Patricio Morlete Ruiz, born in San Miguel de Allende, was renowned as a painter of Casta. He collaborated with Miguel Cabrera, the founder of the Academy of Painting in Mexico City, of which he became a member. There is significant evidence of a Flemish influence in his works.
