Adam Christiaensz Pynacker

c. 1621-1673 Netherlands/Baroque

Brief Biography-Adam Christiaensz Pynacker was born in a village near Schiedam called Pynacker c. 1621. He was a student of Jan Dirksz Both, known as Both of Italy, for his Italianate landscapes. Both influenced Pynacker, who also spent time in Italy. In Holland, he was in high demand, and many notables commissioned him to adorn the walls of their dwellings with his landscapes. Today, Pynacker’s paintings hang in numerous galleries throughout Europe.
