|
Brief Biography-James Ferrier Pryde was a painter and graphic artist born in Edinburg who studied at the Royal Scottish Academy and spent three months at the Académie Julian in Paris under Bouguereau. In 1893 he collaborated with his brother-in-law William Nicholson to design graphic posters. They became known as the Baggarstaff Brothers. His paintings are primarily of buildings in obscure settings, which are inclined to draw the viewer into them beguilingly. |
