Jan Micker

1599-1664 Holland/Dutch Golden Age.

 

Brief Biography-Jan Christiaensz Micker was born in Amsterdam on 13th June 1599 with his twin-brother Abraham. He worked out of Amsterdam, was a draughtsman, and a painter of religious, architectural, and history subjects. However, he primarily painted staffage into paintings for other artists. His brother Adriaen was a publisher, and his other brother Barnard was a painter. Jan’s most famous student was Jan Baptist Weenix. He died in Amsterdam in 1664.
