Franz Lippisch

Brief Biography-Franz Lippisch was born in Hammer Schneidemühle, near Waldowstrenk, Brandenburg in 1859. He was a student at the Berlin Art Academy and later led the preparatory class at the Academy. He became a founder of the Berlin Secession and a proponent of Modernism. Lippisch also worked as a book illustrator. He moved from Berlin in 1915 and spent his last years in a farmhouse in Jamlitz, in Brandenburg, where he died in 1941. |
