Brief Biography-Juliusz Kossak of Lwów, Poland, was a military history painter and illustrator. His principal paintings were battle scenes. He spent time in Paris with his family before working in Warsaw and Munich as an Illustrator, then settling in Kraków for the remainder of his life. Kossak painted several works for Poland’s nobility, and Emperor Franz Joseph of Austria-Hungary bestowed the Cross of Order of Merit on him. |
