Kanō Sansetsu

1590-1651 Japan/Kanō School

Brief Biography-Kanō Sansetsu was a disciple of Kanō Sanraku, whose daughter he married. Unlike many Kanō School artists who moved to Edo with the Shogunate, Sansetsu remained to live and work in Kyoto. He was of the fifth generation of Kanō painters.
