wang jian 王鉴

c .1598-1677 China/Qing dynasty

Brief Biography-Wang Jian of the Ming Dynasty was born in Taicang in 1598. He was an associate of Wang Shimin and a disciple of Dong Qichang, and he is one of the four Wangs, including Wang Shimin, Wang Hui and Wang Yuanqi. He painted landscapes in the style of the Song and Yuan periods.
