Brief Biography-Lambert Jacobsz was a painter of religious, historical, and still-life subjects. He was a devoted preacher of the Mennonite religion, an artist and art dealer from Amsterdam who settled in Leeuwarden, Holland. Jacobsz received his art instruction from Theodoor van Thulden. His later students were Govert Teunisz Flinck, Jacob Adriaensz Backer and his son Abraham Lambertsz van den Tempel, who also became a prominent artist. He died of the plague in 1636. |
