Lung Fibrosis is a terminal illness he has been inflicted with for the last seven years and he donates a portion of proceeds to the ILFA. Jakob Emanuel Handmann

1718-1781 Switzerland/Portraiture

Brief Biography-Jakob Emanuel Handmann was born in Basel in 1718. He studied under Johann Ulrich Schnetzler in Switzerland and Jean II Restout in Paris, where he worked. He studied paintings of masters in Italy for four years before returning home to Basel in 1746. The Bologna Academy of Fine Arts admitted him in 1773. Handmann worked from his studio in Basel for the remainder of his days. He died in 1781.
