Francesco Granacci
1477-1543 Italy/High Renaissance
|
Brief Biography-Francesco Granacci was a Florentine artist who studied under Domenico Ghirlandaio, along with his friend Michelangelo. He was one of several artists who began work with Michelangelo on the Sistine Chapel that the tempestuous master discharged. Michelangelo strongly influenced his style. It is evident in many of his works. The paintings of Filippino Lippi also influenced him. He spent most of his life working in Florence, where he died in 1543. |
