Brief Biography- Huang Gongwang, originally Lu Jian, of the late Song Dynasty, was born in Changshu, Jiangsu, in 1269. He was one of the Four Great Masters of the Yuan, who were all disciples of Zhao Mengfu. Gongwang was a devout Daoist and spent his last years in the Fuchun Mountains studying Daoism, where he painted his most famous work, Dwelling in the Fuchun Mountains. |
