Brief Biography-Tony Robert-Fleury from Paris was the son of Joseph Nicolas Robert Fleury, artist and director of the École des Beaux-Arts. Tony studied under his father and the painter Paul Delaroche. His works were renowned for historical subjects.
He became a renowned teacher at the Académie Julian with many successful students such as Marie Bashkirtseff, Robert Henri, Lovis Corinth, Edouard Vuillard and others. In 1907, he gained the National Order of the Legion of Honour. |
