Cristóvão de Figueiredo

Known works 1515-1543 Portugal/ High Renaissance

Brief Biography-Cristóvão de Figueiredo trained with Jorge Afonso before working with Francisco Henriques, Gregório Lopes and Garcia Fernandes on altarpieces throughout Portugal. He also gained royal patronage and was highly regarded for his works. Artists commissioned his drawings and paintings, and he did cartoons for tapestries. The National Museum of Ancient Art Lisbon houses several of his paintings.
