Giovanni Battista Farinati

Brief Biography-Giovanni Battista Farinati or Battista da Verona was born in 1532. He studied in the atelier of Antonio Badile in Verona, along with Paolo Veronese. Giovanni also had instruction from his uncle, Paolo Farinati. He undertook several works with Veronese at the Villa Soranza near Castelfranco and in the Doge’s Palace in Venice. He worked in many locations, including Mantua, for the Gonzaga family. One of his strong influences was Titian, evident throughout his works. He is also known as Giovanni Battista Zelotti. He died in Mantua in 1578. |
