Brief Biography-Jan Frans Eliaerts, a painter of flowers and fruit, was from Deurne, Belgium. After his studies at the Antwerp Academy, he left for Paris, where he remained for most of his life. He taught the profession and achieved considerable success with his baroque-style paintings. He spent his last days in Antwerp, where he died in 1848. |
