Brief Biography-Jacob Duck was from Utrecht, where he trained to be a goldsmith as a young man. He later received his art tuition from Joost Cornelisz Droochsloot and entered the Utrecht Guild of Saint Luke. The works of William Duyster and Pieter Codde influenced him. His career took him to Haarlem, the Hague and Utrecht, but he was not known to have ventured outside of Holland. |
