Brief Biography-Hendrik Jakobsz Dubbels of the Dutch Golden Age was from Amsterdam, where he spent his whole life. Painting marine and winter scenes were his specialities. He worked alongside Jan van de Cappelle, William van de Velde the Younger and Simon de Vlieger. He also spent a year in the studio of William van de Velde the Elder. At one stage in his career, he tutored Ludolf Backhuysen and worked for him when he was older. |
