Jacob Willemsz Delff II

1619-1661 Holland/Baroque

 

Brief Biography-Jacob Willemsz Delff II was from a family of artists in Delft, Holland. He was the grandson of the painter of the Prince of Orange, Michiel Jansz van Miereveld. Miereveld was his primary source of inspiration, whose style influenced his portraits. In addition, Willem Jacobsz Delff’s father was a highly successful engraver, and his uncle Cornelis Jacobsz Delff was a successful still-life painter.
