Cabezalero Juan Martín

Brief Biography-Juan Martín Cabezalero was born in Almaden, close to Cordova. He was a disciple of Juan Carreño de Miranda in Madrid. Cabezalero was a painter of religious and historical works in which he excelled. His most noted paintings are The Assumption of the Virgin and Saint Ildefonso in the parish of Saint Nicholas and Ecce Homo and The Crucifixion in the Chapel of the Third Order in the Convent of Saint Francis. The style of Van Dyck influenced Cabezalero through his master. Unfortunately, he died young in Madrid in 1673. |
