Arnold Bronckorst

1565-1583 Scotland born Netherlands-Late Renaissance

Brief Biography-Arnold Bronckhorst was a Dutch artist noted as the court painter to James VI of Scotland. Speculation has it he first went to Scotland from London with Nicholas Hilliard, although this is uncertain. He held the post of court painter until he returned to London in 1583.
